The Community Allotment held its annual Open Afternoon on Thursday, 17th August, to coincide with National Allotment Week. The allotmenteers made a splendid variety of cakes and bakes and, although visitor numbers were down on previous years, everyone had a great time chatting and tasting the goodies. The produce and plant stalls both did well, especially the home made jams and chutneys. The sun shone and a grand time was had by all!

Community Allotment Event, August 2016
“A lovely open afternoon today, with many interested visitors and excellent weather.
The refreshment tent was deservedly popular so a massive thank you to all who helped on the day and/or who made the delicious goodies. We made a total of £138.87 in donations from the food/drink, veg and plant sales”. Jenn Baker
Comment from a visitor:
"A big thank you to Jenn and the allotment team for their warm hospitality this afternoon. The allotments looked great and the range of vegetable-based cakes was really impressive and extremely tasty."
Allotment Event 13th August 2015
Another successful open afternoon at the Community Allotment, despite the dire weather forecast, which luckily didn't reach Bridport. A splendid selection of cakes, biscuits and savouries was enjoyed by everyone. We also did well with the plant "sales" and showed several people around the community allotment. The Food Future tent attracted quite a few people during the afternoon. We estimate that there were some 50 visitors and donations for the food and plants totalled about £100, so we can buy lots of seeds for next season!
